ABOUT CHARISMA POPILLION

With over 21 years of experience in the education sector, I am passionate about creating and implementing innovative and effective solutions for student success. As the Senior Director of Innovation at Beaumont Independent School District (BISD), I oversee the development and execution of the district\'s strategic plan for innovation, which includes curriculum design, instructional technology, professional learning, and community partnerships. I also collaborate with various stakeholders, such as principals, teachers, students, parents, and external organizations, to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the district. Prior to this role, I served as a campus principal for three different schools within BISD, where I led the transformation of academic performance, student engagement, teacher retention, and school climate. I hold a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Southern University, and a Master\'s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lamar University. I am also skilled in teaching, education reform, and data analysis. My core competencies are innovation, leadership, collaboration, and communication. I am driven by the mission of providing quality and equitable education for all students, and I am committed to advancing the vision and values of BISD. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, and I am always eager to learn and grow as a professional.
