Chao has strong expertise in Transportation Master Plan, functional planning study, and Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) for both rural and urban mobility and nexus with urban development. His planning skills include travel demand modelling and he is an expert in discrete choice modeling (Logit), stated preference survey design, and traffic and revenue (T&R) forecasting for managed lanes. He possesses hands-on skills of large traffic data analysis, econometric forecasting and statistical analysis. He had been involved in multiple research projects with a focus on travelers’ behavior in using managed lanes for Texas Transportation Institute (TTI). Chao is proficient in data analysis and his software and statistical skills include CUBE, EMME, Visum, TransCAD, Synchro, Excel VBA, NLOGIT, SAS, SPSS, R, and Eviews.
