About Chanung Wang
My major research is in the neuroscience field, especially researching new possible drugs and mechanisms for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) treatment. I am currently Principal Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.I have a variety of research backgrounds: 1) researching molecular immunological biology as an undergraduate research assistant at Dongguk University in South Korea; 2) researching developmental biology in an extraordinary social amoeba (Dictyostelium) and gold nanoparticle chemistry for targeting specific cells as a master degree student at Dongguk University; 3) researching chemotaxis cell migration in Dictyostelium and neuronal cell (BV2 cell) as a research intern graduate at Vanderbilt University; 4) researching basic sleep science in a novel mouse model organism (Acomys cahirinus) as a Ph.D. student at University of Kentucky. During my postdoctoral training with Dr. David Holtzman in the Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, I researched a bidirectional relationship between Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Sleep.
