ABOUT CHANUL PERERA
I’m a dedicated Year 2 Hotel and Hospitality Management student at the University of South Wales, passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and a building a career as a hotel manager. During my work placement at the Celtic Manor Resort, I gained extensive hands-on experience across front of house departments and back of house operational departments. This includes front office and concierge, conference and events, food and beverage(F&B), housekeeping, and Culinary. Additionally I gained valuable experience and knowledge in back of house operations such as Human Resources, Talent and Development, finance, and procurement. This experience has provided me with an overall understanding of how collaboration and efficiency across all the departments shape the overall guest experience. My academic studies have strengthened my knowledge of leadership, strategic hospitality management, service excellence, while my practical learning has improved my communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and team working skills. My long term goal is to become a hotel manager who leads with empathy, integrity, creating inclusive and motivated teams that deliver the highest standards of guest satisfaction and operational success. I aspire to create a positive workplace culture that encourages growth, collaboration and continuous improvement. Additionally, I want to create environments where both guests and employees feel valued, inspired and connected, so that every stay becomes a story worth remembering.
