Passionate Educator & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu EnthusiastI am a dedicated educator and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a long-standing commitment to supporting young people in overcoming challenges and realising their potential.My journey in education began at Kirklees College, where I started as an Animal Care Technician before progressing to become a Lecturer and later Programme Lead for Level 2 Animal Care students. Over those years, I gained invaluable experience as I moved up through the ranks and, most importantly, discovered how much I enjoyed daily interactions with learners. Helping students grow in confidence, develop skills, and succeed academically confirmed my passion for teaching and mentoring.More recently, in my role as a teacher at Employability Solutions, I have continued to witness the transformative power of education and mentorship. By creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, I strive to instil confidence, resilience, and a genuine love for learning. Whether through tailored lesson plans, one-to-one support, or mentoring sessions, I am committed to helping each learner unlock their talents and pursue their goals.Beyond the classroom, I am the proud founder of Ground Control BJJ, a community hub where individuals of all ages come together to train, learn, and grow through the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. My passion for martial arts extends beyond fitness; it is a way to promote mental well-being, self-discipline, and respect while fostering a true sense of belonging.With a career that has grown from technician to lecturer to programme lead, and now expanding into wider education and community roles, I am deeply committed to empowering young people to become confident, resilient, and compassionate individuals.Let’s connect and explore how we can work together to inspire positive change!
