ABOUT CHANTAL SOREL
Corporate director and advisor with C-Suite and P&L experience. In the course of my 30-year career, I held positions in large corporations, in general management with full profit & loss responsibility, in project development and financing, in project management, operations, strategic development, business development and mergers and acquisitions, in the fields of power, infrastructure, mining and metallurgy, industrial facilities, rail and transit and social infrastructure. I have great understanding and knowledge of the Canadian market as well as global markets from Canadian and international experience. I traveled extensively for business purposes throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, China, India, South East Asia, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. I currently sit on the Board of Falco Resources, a public company and on the advisory board of Moltex Energy and GNRQC. I have also been on the Boards of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships, the Infrastructure Council and the Project Management Institute, Montreal Chapter, as Vice President Finance from 1997 to 2001 and President from 2002 to 2004. Throughout my career, I always put forwards the value of ethics, the respect of others, collaboration, and in addition, always paid great attention to the health and safety of the team under my responsibility and the general public. I demonstrated corporate courage as proven by the challenges undertook and delivered. I hold a Degree in architecture from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in Project Management from Université du Québec à Montréal as well as a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute and I completed the Director Education Program jointly offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors, the McGill Executive Institute and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
