ABOUT PAULA CHAN
Paula Chan began her career in the field of education, specializing in school-based behavior interventions for students in special education. She developed expertise in multi-tiered systems of support, implementation science, IEP development, and staff training. At Cleveland State, she expanded on these interests through research, working as an educational advocate, and serving as an expert consultant for federal agencies. As professor, she worked with the Office for Disability Services to determine reasonable accommodations in complex settings. She also worked closely with the Office for Institutional Equity to determine applications of Title IX accommodations in the classroom. Outside of the classroom, Paula has chaired faculty disciplinary committees and served on the student judiciary committees on the University Judicial Board She is currently pursuing her law degree at CSU College of Law. While in law school, Paula has gained experience in education law working with Equality Ohio, conducting legal research on Title IX and parents rights.
