ABOUT CHANNING CHASTEN
I am an author, keynote speaker, and entrepreneur with a passion for sports, leadership, and youth empowerment. Before playing professional soccer, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Analysis and Engagement from The Ohio State University, home to the nation’s top-ranked communications program. At Ohio State, I was a member of the men’s varsity soccer team and served as President of Redefining Athletic Standards, a Black male student-athlete organization focused on leadership and community impact.I was recognized as an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2019, 2020, and 2021.Today, I serve as the Founder and Executive Director of The 1% Kid Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through the pillars of soccer, literacy, and mindset. I also oversee corporate partnerships for Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club, where I build relationships that create opportunities for athletes and the community.I am driven by a calling to inspire others, create meaningful change, and support those who cannot support themselves.
