ABOUT JANELLE CABALLERO

I bring a robust background in human resources, workforce development, and talent management, with expertise spanning higher education, construction, and the blue economy. As a strengths-based ICF PCC-certified coach (Gallup, Roche-Martin, Roy Group), I focus on fostering relationships and team cohesion to build strong organizational cultures. My expertise in succession planning and retention strategies ensures alignment of talent with organizational missions, values, and strategic goals. As a PROSCI-certified change consultant and UBC-trained DEI specialist, I have led regional and national campaigns to enhance talent awareness and drive diversity, equity, and inclusion within multiple industries.My Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials equip me to manage cross-functional HR initiatives, from strategy to execution. Additionally, my K-12 PGCE (Oxford Brookes) and M.Ed. in Adult Education (St. Petersburg) enable me to design impactful learning tools and professional development platforms that engage diverse talent pools. My recent BC and Yukon CPHR designation strengthens my ability to navigate HR processes, policies, and their organizational applications.I’ve contributed to talent development initiatives in numerous capacities. As a Research Chair in Goalsetting at Crofton House School, I examined how community support influences career aspirations for young women in non-traditional roles. As Career Education Department Head and WIL Facilitator, I launched over 200 students into experiential learning opportunities across various industries. At UBC’s Sauder School of Business, I developed strategic plans to streamline career coaching across a team of 40+ advisors, enhancing services for students in MBA, Master\'s, and undergraduate programs.In the infrastructure sector, I spearheaded the creation of a STEM-focused Learning Hub for the Broadway Subway Project, highlighting construction industry opportunities in BC. Most recently, at Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, I led national talent initiatives, including a Career Hub, Blue Economy 101 resource, and national reports on pathways and best practice in hiring and retention in the ocean sector.
