ABOUT CHANG M. LIU
Chang M. Liu is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Bank (Nasdaq: CATY) and serves as a member of Cathay General Bancorp Board of Directors. Chang joined Cathay Bank in 2014 as Senior Vice President and Assistant Chief Lending Officer. Before assuming the helm as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2020, he held pivotal roles including the Chief Lending Officer and the Chief Operating Officer, where he spearheaded initiatives that propelled the growth of Cathay Bank’s commercial and real estate lending divisions, business development units, and various operations. Chang is a seasoned banker with over 30 years of financial services industry experience. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). In addition to leading Cathay, Chang serves as a director on the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco–Los Angeles Regional Board, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco as a California Bank Board Member, the California Bankers Association Board, and is on the Board of Advisors for the UCLA Anderson Forecast. Beyond industry endeavors, he serves as the Chairman to the American Cancer Society–CEOs Against Cancer (L.A. Chapter), where he holds the distinction of being the first chairman of Asian descent and serves on the board of directors for Foothill Family Service.
