CoCoMotion is the brainchild of Chanel \"CoCo\" Malvar, a trailblazing force who transformed her life’s challenges into a powerful fitness journey rooted in purpose and community. A professional dancer based in Los Angeles, Chanel shared the stage with global icons like Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and more. Yet, it was motherhood—not the spotlight—that truly reshaped her vision.After facing a near-death experience during pregnancy due to preeclampsia and later being diagnosed with a benign thyroid tumor, Chanel became acutely aware of the lack of safe, inclusive spaces for mothers of color in both fitness and motherhood conversations. These pivotal moments ignited a deeper calling.Fitness became her sanctuary—especially during the isolating COVID era, when working remotely and becoming increasingly sedentary began to erase the physical strength she had built through years of dance. Refusing to let that happen, Chanel doubled down on her health and wellness journey.Fueled by passion and perseverance, she became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, as well as a certified XTREME Hip Hop and XTREME HD Step instructor. Her mission? To create spaces where moms—especially moms of color—are seen, heard, and empowered.Today, Chanel stands as a fierce advocate for maternal wellness, using CoCoMotion to inspire others to reclaim their strength, prioritize their health, and continue the conversations that matter.
