On an annual basis, I conduct pro bono research and providing practical insights on gender inequality and the impact of labor laws on women in Trinidad and Tobago, contributing to the annual Women, Business, and the Law Report. My work involves analysis of how evolving legislation influences women\'s economic opportunities, particularly in areas such as maternity and paternity leave, workplace protections, employment restrictions, retirement and pension programs, and legal reforms. I also recommend innovative policy solutions to address these challenges and promote gender equity.Key Contributions:COVID-19 Response: Analyzed and assessed the effectiveness of social protection programs, including childcare options, emergency relief measures, and both temporary and permanent government initiatives designed to protect citizens during the pandemic.Legal Research: Conducted extensive case law research on constitutional rights related to collective bargaining, employment relationships, and LGBTQ rights, advocating for legal recognition and protection.Legislative Review: Provided detailed analysis and updates to the World Bank on a wide range of Trinidad and Tobago\'s key legislation, including the Constitution Act, Industrial Relations Act, Civil Service Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Retrenchment and Severance Benefits Act, Maternity Protection Act, Minimum Wages Act, and the Equal Opportunity Act.This work underscores my commitment to advancing women’s rights and labor protections through comprehensive legal analysis and policy development.
