ABOUT CHANELE MCFARLANE
Hi, I’m Chanele!I\'m a comms professional with over a decade of experience spanning both internal and external communications, digital strategy, executive communications and thought leadership. Much of my career has been spent inside large, global, matrixed organizations such as Capital One, Coursera, TELUS and, most recently, Sanofi. I\'ve partnered with cross-functional teams to align messaging, move initiatives forward and deliver outcomes that drive business impact.I started my career in the social media era, helping organizations figure out how to show up authentically on platforms that were rewriting the rules of audience engagement in real time. That experience of advising leaders through technological shifts, translating emerging platform logic into digital-first strategy and helping teams build credibility with skeptical audiences is what I now bring to the AI era. My AI expertise is both practical and formal. I am a Certified Prompt Engineer, I\'ve studied AI Ethics at the London School of Economics and I am currently completing a Master\'s in Digital Futures at King\'s College London. I also work hands-on daily with Claude and other LLMs to build workflows, custom tools and solve operational communications problems. I\'ve led internal AI communications campaigns reaching tens of thousands of employees across dozens of countries and have built AI-powered comms workflows from the ground up. In addition to my extensive corporate career, I’m a charismatic content creator, TEDx speaker and Certified Career Strategist. I speak regularly on AI, communications and the future of work and I run a newsletter called Today\'s Brand, exploring what it takes to build a meaningful brand in today\'s technological landscape. I’ve delivered over 150 speaking engagements and have been featured on podcasts and news outlets, including Fast Company, The Globe & Mail, Breakfast Television and many more. I’m also a passionate educator and have taught Business Storytelling and Personal Branding at Seneca College and George Brown College, respectively. My leadership and influence have been recognized nationally, earning distinctions as one of PR in Canada’s Top 30 Under 30, a Top 100 Black Woman to Watch and a Top 25 Woman of Influence.I am open to exploring writing, speaking and communications opportunities, including full-time, contract and advisory roles.
