Salt Lake City, UT, US

I serve as a thought-partner and guide to the Head of School in DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging) strategic visioning and implementation. I am the team lead for the Office of Belonging, Equity, and Impact, which includes the Center for Community Impact (CCI), designed to empower individuals to become agents of positive change in their communities. Through CCI, I co-direct Horizons at Rowland Hall, a partnership with Salt Lake City public school district to support elementary students in title I schools with a 6-week summer program focused on literacy and math education. As a member of the leadership team, I work with school leaders: in admissions and hiring, to increase faculty and student diversity and played an instrumental role in increasing # of faculty/staff of color from 14% to 24%; to advance a preK-12 curricular framework that fully integrates cross-cultural education in collaboration with Director of Community Engagement and Impact, division heads, and department chairs; to build institutional DEIB understanding and capacity among, and within, the faculty, staff, leadership, and Board of Trustees; to articulate a vertically aligned DEIB program across the four divisions and two campuses, in collaboration with division heads and marketing team; and to attend to campus climate and culture ensuring that all members of the community feel a true sense of belonging. This work is measured through the intentional collection and analysis of data to inform strategic decision-making and action centered on equity and inclusion. I regularly collaborate with Board of Trustees Inclusion, Equity and Outreach Committee to frame and understand fiscal and human resources needs necessary for greater equity and inclusion, and I have a record of designing deep and meaningful learning opportunities across the community to advance DEIB initiatives and dialogues within and beyond Rowland Hall.
