ABOUT CHANDAN ARYA
AML Analyst at a major Canadian bank, currently investigating suspicious activity, reviewing high-risk accounts, and supporting FINTRAC regulatory reporting across multiple payment channels. Pursuing CAMS certification alongside hands-on investigative work. My path into compliance wasn\'t linear, and that\'s an advantage. Before AML, I spent years in roles that quietly built the exact judgment this field demands: reconciling accounts and filing GST/HST returns as an Accounts Executive taught me to spot discrepancies before they become problems. Running 200+ payroll cycles in a regulated environment taught me that \"compliant\" only counts if it\'s accurate every single time, not most of the time. And several years in B2B sales and client-facing roles — at Bell, Staples, and a tech consultancy — taught me how to read risk in a relationship, ask the right questions, and document a decision so it holds up to scrutiny later. That combination of investigative rigor, financial accuracy, and client risk-reading is what I bring to every SAR review and case escalation. Currently focused on: AML investigations and red-flag analysis across transactional behavior and payment channels | SAR/STR review and FINTRAC regulatory reporting | High-risk account monitoring and case escalation | Cross-functional collaboration with Compliance, Risk, and Legal Open to AML Investigator, KYC/CDD Analyst, and Compliance Analyst roles across Canadian financial institutions. Always happy to connect with others in financial crime risk and regulatory compliance.
