ABOUT CHANAKYA SHARMA
Over 24 years in IT, and the last 20 specifically in SAP have taught me only one thing- that a leader’s role is not only limited to execution, but also seamless integration of the diversity that comes with the organisation – both in applications, and in the people. Three questions are primary for leaders, then:• Is the Technology Readiness in line for Business Transformation?• Have I identified and planned the organizational activities that make a stable, robust platform for transformation?• Is the organization able to achieve its vision once the technology platform is in place?I help organizations answer all these questions with a resounding yes, and although sometimes with speed bumps, have successfully enabled organizations to restart their transformational journey in a way that consistently atleast roots for this goal. For tools, I endeavor for scale - for people, I seek to burgeon micro-innovation within teams, to ensure that growth is a self-sustaining/fueling process rather than a ‘mechanism’ that paces the growth of the company. I’ve been heavily involved with industries, thus, such as Industrial Manufacturing, Financial Services, FMCG, Retail, Oil & Gas and Telecom specifically with SAP led transformation to facilitate their growth at scale. This is an ever-lasting journey, for the leaders I direct, are not only looking to accelerate innovation but also instigate the hunger for disruption within their organizations. Effectiveness, in this manner (in my vision, although I do also strive for a ‘one step at a time’ mentality) comes through a transformative change that forces a participative but, simultaneously, an autonomous style of functioning. This wave of change has only fortunately caused a shift in the way leaders view their operational dynamics, making them think of the global impact, apart from their otherwise daily mission-critical operations. I am looking expand my knowledge, and widen the scope of effective functionality by indulging in your story about how it is that you bridge the gap between technology, the people, and the knowledge.
