ABOUT MICHELLE CHAMBERLAIN

Michelle Chamberlain is the Vice President of External Relations at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California. In this capacity, Michelle leads all fundraising, communication, and community engagement efforts. Small by choice, interdisciplinary by nature, and fearless in the face of any challenge, globally renowned researchers at Salk are harnessing cutting-edge technology and fueling bold initiatives to tackle some of the most challenging problems of our time. Whether researching the catalysts to Alzheimer’s through immunobiology, advancing our understanding of cancer through molecular and cell biology, or discovering expanded limits of resilient crops with greater yields through plant biology, Salk is unlocking the secrets of life itself.Previously, Michelle spent nearly two decades at Claremont McKenna College (CMC), where she led the first billion-dollar campaign in liberal arts history, founded the Soll Center for Student Opportunity, and was dean of the prestigious Robert Day Scholars program. Before joining CMC, Michelle was an attorney with O’Melveny & Myers LLP. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts degree in Education Administration from Claremont Graduate University, and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern School of Law. Michelle is a current member of the California Bar Association. She resides in Solana Beach, California and is active in her community, as a member of the Southwestern School of Law Board of Visitors, St. Lucy’s Board of Directors and Mt. San Antonio Gardens Corporation Board.Specialties: Fundraising, donor engagement and stewardship, communications, and events.
