I\'m a software engineer on the Microsoft Edge team focused on making the browser a safe and accessible experience for everyone. This involves designing and developing new features to increase browser usage and gain new customers, fixing bugs and writing tests. A couple of highlights of my work so far:Accessibility in Linux - Noisy AlertsThis task is a part of our ongoing efforts to make Edge accessible across all supported platforms. I added support for narrator-based alerts for common web events like switching between tabs, navigation to a new web page, starting a download, etc. Alerts are announced using the default screen reader on Linux, Orca (based on the IA2 framework).Side Hub Notification FrameworkThe side hub is a new UI/UX feature in Edge that aims to provide a centralized browsing experience for users by making commonly used features available in a single \"highly visible\" area. A lot of these features and apps might have useful suggestions for users. I am currently helping design a framework for drawing the user\'s attention when such suggestions are available using subtle notifications.
