ABOUT CHAITANYA PATANGE

1.Support Design Engineering in identification and qualification of electrical and mechanical components. 2.Must have critical thinking skills, understanding parts lists, BOM\'s, electronic categories, components and attributes 3.Review, analyse and optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs) down to manufacturer part level. 4.Initiate and lead the efforts to identify and qualify second sources for material availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement purposes 5.Understand component technology roadmaps/trends and present them to Design Engineering. 6.Develop and execute component evaluation, acceptance and qualification test plans. 7.Identify critical and high risk components in products and proactively identify and drive solutions to resolve End-of-life (EOL) 8.Communicate to component manufacturers regarding component failures 9.Ensure components are compliant to necessary environmental and safety standards, e.g. RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc. 10.Review and address Product Change Notices (PCNs) from component manufacturers along tracking component lifecycles. 11.Provide input to new designs to improve product reliability. 12.The Material / Component Engineering will serve as a technical resource to Procurement and Quality 13.Maintain updates to Component Supplier management tool and workflows 14.Promote coordination between Team members toward recommended solution and execution
