I established Context Media Inc. in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in the summer of 2021 to continue my work in media, film, and television production. I am actively involved in community television at the local level with Charlotte County Television (CHCO) and federally as part of the Canadian Association of Community Television Users and Stations (CACTUS). At CHCO I was the project manager for the digital adoption program which brought the channel into a live steaming and video on demand format over the internet.As a member of CACTUS I advocate for legislative change to the legal frameworks around community TV.The pandemic era has solidified the importance of a hyper-local perspective and community media is the best medium to showcase the places and perspectives we all cherish. strongly believe that the legal frameworks for community media as defined in the Canadian Broadcasting Act is severely outdated and needs reform.
