Summer research in Bayesian statistics with the supervision of Dr. Laurie Heyer, Dr. Annie Tang, and Dr. Kevin Wang. Supported by Davidson Research Initiative (DRI)- Co-authored a paper presenting new algorithms and numerical simulations in R benchmarking against state-of-the-art Bayesian variable selection methods across sparsity regimes and $\\alpha$ values; will submit for peer-review- Derived coordinate ascent and stochastic variational inference updates for high-dimensional sparse regression with spike-and-slab Laplace priors, using the Radon–Nikodym derivative, Rényi’s $\\alpha$-divergence, and the second-order delta method.
