Following BMO’s acquisition of Bank of the West, I was promoted to Team Lead in the Risk Intelligence Unit. The RIU is a specialized team that facilitates 314(b) requests, acts as a liaison for external inquiries from law enforcement, and is responsible for conducting some of the bank’s most complex and high-profile investigations. My responsibilities as a Team Lead include monitoring work loads and tracking the team’s progress, providing guidance and training to the team’s investigators, monitoring and responding to team chats, providing feedback for process improvements, as well as conducting quality control reviews for the bank’s 314(b) program and alerts and cases, and assigning out ad-hoc items from the RIU mailboxes. Additionally, when the team manager is out of office, I take on the responsibility of approving SAR disclosures for the team to submit for filing as well as submitting de-market requests as needed.
