About George Chacon
As the Deputy Director of the Dream Resource Center (DRC) at UCLA Labor Center, I lead the overall program and operations management of the DRC, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of our programmatic and strategic goals. With over eight years of experience in the education and social justice fields, I have developed a strong passion and expertise in immigrant rights, leadership development, community organizing, and power building.My mission is to provide young immigrant leaders with the skills, resources, and networks they need to enact community and systems change. I have trained and mentored 18 immigrant youth leaders who have empowered over immigrants in accessing resources, mutual aid funds, and community networks. I have also raised and secured over in leadership awards for immigrant youth leaders, and organized with coalitions to protect immigrant communities and limit large-scale deportations. I am committed to advancing the rights and dignity of immigrants and creating a more equitable and inclusive society.
