ABOUT CHAAMY YAPA
I am a May 2023 graduate from the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Baruch where I earned my B.A. in Biological Sciences with a double minor in Chemistry and Honors in New York City Studies while on a pre-med track. During my senior year, I conducted research for my senior thesis project on transcriptional regulators during muscle development in Drosophila melanogaster. I am continuing my Drosophila research and currently working as a Research Associate at the Cell, Developmental & Regenerative Biology Department at Mount Sinai under Dr. Marek Mlodzik\'s laboratory. I plan to matriculate into medical school after completing my gap period experience as a Research Associate.
