Dynamic Fortune 500 financial services firm is the 9th largest US life insurance company with over 21 million customers and $1.4 trillion of insurance in force. • Responsible for talent development and leading a large engineering team that implements and operates many of the technologies protecting Securian’s large, complex, heavily-regulated environment. • Successfully implemented an innovative new team organizational model that focuses on the technology and process practice areas of Code Security (including Application Security and Cloud Security), Data Security, Workload Security (including Endpoint Security) and Infrastructure Security (including Network Security). The model breaks down existing team knowledge silos and allows for efficient management and improvement of tools, while increasing velocity through a shared, cross-trained engineering resource pool. • While developing an overall multi-year strategic direction for the practice areas, I am accountable for the implementation and optimization of the cybersecurity technology investments made by the enterprise, and maximizing return on that investment. My team’s practice areas allow for the development of solutions that place the right security controls, at the right place, at the most effective cost.
