About Chloe Green
Chloe Green (she/her) is the Manager of Food and Nutrition Services at the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) and leads their nutrition support portfolio. In this role, Chloe supports and analyzes Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and nutrition policy by building strategic partnerships, managing research and demonstration projects to distill nutrition policy recommendations, and facilitating peer exchange and the advancement of federal policy recommendations on behalf of state SNAP administrators. Chloe also plays an integral role on APHSA’s race equity team and is leading APHSA\'s new work on environmental justice. In addition to her full-time role at APHSA, Chloe is a Bloomberg Fellow for Obesity and the Food System at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.Chloe was originally brought to APHSA as a Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellow, which is an anti-hunger and anti-poverty fellowship that equips future leaders with experience in both local community and national policy work, and over 30 days of dedicated training. For her community placement, Chloe worked in her hometown at the Los Angeles Food Policy Council (LAFPC) where she curated the 2020 Food System Dashboard, a comprehensive analysis of the health, affordability, sustainability, and fairness of the LA food system over time. Prior to the Emerson Fellowship, she served as the Advocacy & Research Operations Specialist at the Kaufman Lab for the Study and Design of Food Systems and Marketplaces at the University of Wisconsin, where she worked with farmers markets to implement data collection methods using Farm 2 Facts. As an undergraduate, Chloe was awarded a Wisconsin Idea Fellowship for her research with accessibility for lower-income and underserved populations at farmers markets and was subsequently granted additional funding to launch a pilot project utilizing her findings in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Previously, Chloe interned with other organizations in South Los Angeles including Community Services Unlimited, Inc. and SoLA Food Co-op. Chloe Green is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds degrees in Dietetics and Community & Environmental Sociology. She has a passion for food justice for all and believes to her core that each individual and family should have equitable access to culturally and nutritionally nourishing food. When she isn\'t working, Chloe loves to cook and experiment with new recipes, go to farmers markets, practice yoga, and be a mom to her dog Olive and many plants.
