ABOUT CARL GERLACH
I come from the background of a German father who started a metal fabricating business back in 1963. I spent my teen, 20\'s and most of my 30\'s working in the family business. From sweeper, janitor, grinder, machinist, purchasing agent, controller and finally CFO. In the late 90\'s the family decided to branch off into IT to hopefully capitalize on the Y2k frenzy in order to build a customer base of SMBs. I was the President of Apex Information systems from 1997 through 2001. My education both formal and informal was significantly focused on IT. Computers intrigued me from my humble beginnings in high school. Every chance I had I would spend reading, investigating, programming, building or recommending something computer related.Specialties: Heavy manufacturing background. Enjoy and excel at building the bridge(relationship) between IT and the shop floor. Knowing how to listen, when to speak up and how to meet the business needs without \"over-engineering\" a solution is what I consider one of my best qualities.
