Mr. Ferrell is a founding member of Green Ring Partners (GRP). Green Ring aims to be your trusted advisor for your renewable and utility project needs. We offer access to a diverse group of entities which can offer a wide array of solutions in the energy transition, renewables, microgrid, distributed energy resource, utility infrastructure, resiliency, and electric grid modernization arena.Mr. Ferrell was the Vice President of Professional and Technical Excellence at Mott MacDonald in the Power division. Prior to that role, Mr. Ferrell was the Power Delivery East Vice President. Mr. Ferrell joined Mott MacDonald in 2016 and was responsible for fostering and developing key client relationships, project oversight and several personnel in the US. He has been involved in the development, engineering, and construction of over megawatts of operating renewable projects across the country. These have included the largest wind complex in Texas (at the time), the largest solar farm east of the Mississippi River (at the time), and the largest battery installation in the US (at the time). He has been a successful project manager, project engineer and project director for a wide variety of solar, wind, storage, transmission, distribution and substation projects. These have included underground and overhead transmission and distribution, SCADA and fiber design, site power plant controllers, power studies, plant protection and control systems, and transmission interconnection efforts. Prior to joining Mott MacDonald, Mr. Ferrell has held various management and engineering roles with engineering, construction and utility companies. Mr. Ferrell graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Wake Forest University. Mr. Ferrell is a licensed professional engineer in the state of North Carolina. Mr. Ferrell also has his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. In his spare time, he volunteers for the Ability Experience as a cycling coach and mentor for the Journey of Hope and for JDRF.
