ABOUT CESARE GAGLIARDO

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery in July 2006 at the University of Palermo presenting the thesis \"Functional MR diffusion sequences in acute ischemic stroke\"; qualified as a Medical Doctor in February 2007. Trained as a Radiologist in Palermo\'s Policlinico Universitario P. Giaccone. His passion in Neurosciences led him to attend the Neuroradiology Unit of the Radiology Section at the Department of Medical and Forensics Biopathology and Biotechnology (University of Palermo) since the first months of the pre-graduate training. During the last year of the Radiology fellowship he attended for a few months (March 2011 - June 2011) the Department of Neuroradiology at Milan’s Ospedale Niguarda Ca\' Granda (Director Dr. E. Boccardi) to hone his knowledge in advanced MRI techniques (MR Spectroscopy - MRS, Perfusion Weighted Imaging - PWI, functional MRI with Blood Oxygen Level Dependent - BOLD contrast). Qualified as a Radiologist in August 2011 presenting the thesis \"Grading of brain gliomas: role of combined perfusion and spectroscopy MR sequences in comparison to conventional MR imaging\". He has presented scientific papers at national and international conferences, participated in numerous courses and conferences, and, as a speaker, at some of regional and national conferences. Currently in the research field as a PhD student (PhD in \"Neuroscience and Behavior Disorders\") and as Research fellow (fellowship in \"Optimization of Magnetic Resonance techniques for guiding and monitoring therapy with Focused Ultrasounds\") at the Radiology Section of the Department of Medical and Forensics Biopathology and Biotechnology (University of Palermo).
