About Cesar Barbosa

The solar industry spent twenty years putting panels up at breakneck speed, with an army of barely trained laborers. Nobody stopped to think about what happens when they get old.I did.I got into solar in 2008 right out of trade school. Electrical background, trained to care about precision, quality, and doing the work right the first time. The problem was that standard hadn’t made it into solar yet. The industry was moving too fast and cutting too many corners and I could see it from day one.I spent years traveling the country remediating some of the largest commercial systems being built at the time. Systems that hadn’t even reached commercial operation yet were already failing. Massive remediation jobs on brand new installs. The sprint had caught up with itself and nobody was talking about it.What I’m seeing today is just as frustrating. There are so many good contractors out there who are perfectly set up to do this remediation and repowering work. Skilled, experienced, ready to go. But the opportunities keep flowing to the mammoth service providers who have the relationships and the access, while the smaller guys sit on the sideline watching work they could execute better walk right past them. That’s the gap NuLife was built to close. We sit between aging assets and the owners trying to figure out what to do with them. We define the path forward and we govern the execution through the local contractors who deserve to be doing this work. The next phase of solar isn’t about putting more panels up. It’s about taking care of what’s already there. And the people who can actually do that work deserve a system built for them too. That’s what we’re
