About Caroline Margiotta

I use high-powered retrospective analytics to reveal the burden of illness and the performance of therapies in the marketplace. I leverage real-world claims and EHR datasets (MarketScan, Premier, TriNetX, PicnicHealth, Komodo, Medicare, Medicaid, and most recently the Blue Health Intelligence National Data Warehouse) to inform post-authorization safety studies, clinical trials, and publications. I have contributed to numerous journal articles and manuscripts and more than six accepted conference posters in various disease areas, including behavioral health, infectious disease, hematology, neurology, vascular disease, oncology, and GLP-1 RAs. On the RWE team at BHI, I design methodologically rigorous retrospective cohort studies, guide a team of data analysts to construct fit-for-purpose datasets, implement complex statistical methodologies in R (e.g, population matching and weighting, survival analysis, GLMs), and synthesize findings into actionable policy briefs, reports, and manuscripts.I am an economist by training with a passion for generating evidence to help improve the quality of healthcare while minimizing cost. I earned my B.A. and M.A. in Economics at Boston University, where I focused on health economics, econometrics, and industrial organization. I have a strong interest in quantitative research methods, which I apply in my role as a senior RWE scientist. I am skilled in R, SAS, and SQL, as well as literature reviews, study protocols, and statistical analysis plans. I enjoy collaborating with clients, programmers, and analysts to deliver high-quality results in a timely fashion.
