I wrote and directed the feature film Girlhood, a coming-of-age drama that takes place over a girl\'s transformative senior year of high school circa 2008 in Grand Rapids, MI. We are currently in post-production.Filming took place in West Michigan for 22 consecutive days with a two person crew (myself and the extremely talented DP Troy Meekhof) from September 24th until October 15th. I personally secured over 30 shooting locations for the film and cast more than 20 actors from in and out of state. I created the shot lists, storyboards, and sent out the schedule and call sheet every day of filming in addition to overseeing craft services and meals for the cast and crew. I provided housing for two out-of-state actresses, transportation when needed, and put together 100+ different costumes for the production. We followed all CDC recommendations and COVID-19 guidelines at the time of filming.
