   As Associate Professor in the Counseling & Human Services Department, I teach courses in counseling, human services, community justice, and psychology. My teaching and mentorship emphasize liberation-oriented counseling, cultural trauma and resilience, and preparing students to engage complex real-world systems with critical insight and practical skill.Beyond the classroom, I advise and guide students in their academic and professional development while contributing to department, college, and university initiatives. I serve as Counseling Minor Coordinator and have led the department’s first Five-Year Self-Study process—work that has involved cross-functional collaboration, assessment, and strategic planning to strengthen student learning and program effectiveness.My scholarship explores the intersections of counseling psychology, culture, and the creative arts, with a focus on racialized trauma, resilience, and globalization. Current research includes an exploratory mixed-methods study analyzing structural power and resources with Black-identifying mental health professionals through anti-racist organizing and culturally responsive healing circles.Across these commitments, I seek to cultivate transformative communities of practice, equip students and colleagues to lead within systems marked by inequity, and advance new models of education that are socially responsive, arts-informed, and globally aware.
