My foundation was built as a nuclear-trained engineering officer in the U.S. Navy submarine force, where I led technical teams and honed a mindset grounded in rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement. I’m excited to apply that experience to my work in the medtech space—where I can merge technical excellence with empathy for the end user. I thrive on solving problems we encounter in daily life. I’m motivated by the intersection of technology and human experience. I find purpose in translating user needs into tangible, life-enhancing solutions.My journey from military service to medical device design reflects a deliberate pivot toward a career that aligns both my skills and my values. I’m energized to be a part of the Carlsmed team, applying my engineering background, creativity, and passion for human-centered design to advance the future of healthcare engineering, I explore creativity through ceramics—designing dual-purpose pieces that bring both function and art into everyday life.
