I am a professional Business Development and Digital Marketing Executive with over 15 years experience, having also helped establish an award winning charity in support of disadvantaged people. I have over 5 years experience in the Third Sector, and have had the added privilege of working with the Ministry of Justice and other institutions on various projects working closely with local prisons supporting ex-offenders as a front line member of staff. Excellerate is a community interest initiative which is part of Gateway Recruitment Ltd social responsibility and whose primary focus is to support ex-offenders and disadvantaged people into employment and education.The Excellerate initiative is becoming rapidly popular amongst our partners, in particular, helping participants with motivation, goal setting and behavioral change which in turn helps to make better life choices and ultimately gain employment and desist from re-offending. As a result of this exposure, a common strand was identified which required addressing. Having experienced at first hand while supporting the intended participant group in various other projects, the many challenges faced by the participants whilst seeking employment, Excellerate would be the solution to address the challenges and the difficulties faced by participants when looking for work and placements within education.
