About Carson D. McCain
As an enthusiastic advocate for the precast industry, I\'m on a mission to improve systems and processes for better precast products and successful projects. I love helping promote the use of precast and sharing industry knowledge to improve the precast construction experience. Currently, I\'m working with Omaha-based general contractor Kiewit to develop construction engineering services that support precast operations across the U.S, Canada, and Mexico. In this role as one of Kiewit\'s in-house expert precast consultants, I regularly collaborate with teams focused on quality, safety, environmental, innovation, operations, estimating, procurement, and corporate communication. My passion for the precast industry includes an interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ways we can leverage this technology to optimize and enhance precast concrete processes and other construction practices. In addition, I founded Preferred Point Consulting to support small- and medium-sized businesses in the precast and prefabrication markets. We assist with sales, outreach, workplace development, and offer full-service precast inspection support. Precast Concrete Engineer - Structural Design Engineer

As their in-house expert on precast concrete, I help Kiewit and its North American subsidiaries by developing training and operating procedures, reviewing project scopes and contracts, and advising on fabrication and installation inspections. I occasionally conduct in-person and remote quality assurance on the work of Kiewit staff and its partners and help find continuous improvement opportunities to increase safety, quality, efficiency, and sustainability. My efforts to reduce risk, predict and prevent problems, and communicate effectively have been best used at many levels of the organization, including the craft, staff, and executive levels. I also use internal social media where I develop marketing strategies to share information about precast concrete, teach others about the latest trends, resources, and innovations in the industry, and celebrate Kiewit projects that are successfully implementing precast solutions.
