I sit within the Aerospace Chief Engineering organisation, and operate as a technical authority within aerospace projects.Key Roles & Responsibilities- Engineering Architect (Lead Technical Authority) on a ~£1.7m project concerning composite actuators in landing gear assemblies- Work package lead within a ~£30m programme of work concerning large-scale and at-rate manufacture of airframe components- Technical project manager on cutting edge manufacturing technology R&D- Providing a quality engineering role for a ~£10m project on the production of a flying semi-aeroelastic hinged wing demonstrator with a \"first time right\" production ethos. In this role I familiarised myself with AS13004 methodologies- Providing technical governance support to projects across project lifecycle, either as a technical authority or independent reviewer- Bid preparation through identifying key tasks and milestones, resource estimation, quality assurance, gap analysis, and customer/partner engagement- Compiling documents outlining sector strategyProject themes that I am involved in- Smart manufacturing processes- Advanced manufacturing techniques- Sustainable aerospace- Composites for cryogenics- Composites for high temperature & demanding environments- Fire, Smoke, and Toxicity requirements- Ceramic matrix compositesAdditionally- Supervising 2 EngD students researching into advanced manufacturing techniques for aerospace composites - Mentoring colleagues through their application for Chartered Engineer and Incorporated Engineer- Chair of the West of England Metals and Materials Association (WEMMA), a local society of the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining (IOM3)
