ABOUT CHIU TSANG
Mr. Tsang Chi Chiu received his bachelor and master degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2005 and 2008 respectively. His research interests are reconfigurable computing using FPGA, sensor applications for human-computer interface and digital control power management. After his master study in 2007, he worked as a full-time research assistant (RA) in the CUHK and University of Hong Kong (HKU) to conduct research in the field of reconfigurable computing. Since 2009, he moved back to study his PhD degree, focusing his research in the topic of “Power Modeling for Heterogeneous Computing System”. In 2011, he applied for non-study leave to work in ASTRI as a full-time project intern and later engineer to acquire practical experiences in the field of digital and power management designs for both IC and application levels. As only an undergraduate student, Mr. Tsang has started doing high-quality research and creating impact to the research society by winning the Second Class Honor Prize for the project entitled “A Door Access Control System based on Face Recognition” in the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest - 2004 Embedded System Design Invitational Contest (Intel Cup), to recognize his contribution in porting the computation intensive pattern recognition algorithm in the resource limited embedded system. Mr. Tsang has published over 10 technical papers in the field of FPGA, digital circuit design and sensor application.
