ABOUT ALEX C. C. TSUI

I am completing my DPhil (PhD) in Structural Computational Biology at the University of Oxford and will transition into biopharma strategy consulting in Spring 2025. My interest in science-driven consulting evolved during my time in the USA, where I explored how firms of varying sizes and capabilities approach strategic problem-solving. Currently based in Berlin, I’ve had the privilege of studying and working across several countries, including the UK, Switzerland, the USA, and Japan. Throughout my academic journey, I have been deeply passionate about community building and science communication. My leadership roles include serving as: • President of the Oxford University Hong Kong Scholars Association, • Co-President of the Oxford University Biochemical Society, • Senior Editor of Phenotype Journal, and • Executive Director of the Scientific Diversity Association at Scripps Research. Outside of science, I am a passionate wine enthusiast with advanced certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). In 2022, I completed the Level 4 Diploma in Wines and was awarded the Vintners’ Cup (2023) for achieving the highest scores among a cohort of 700 graduates. The Diploma is recognised globally as one of the most prestigious wine qualifications and a gateway to the Master of Wine (MW) programme. Previously, I competed as part of the Oxford University Blind Tasting Society Varsity Team. Today, I teach wine with a focus on exam preparation and essay-writing skills, with various Diploma programme providers worldwide.
