About Cayde Roothoff

My foundation is in business strategy. I was trained to break large, ambiguous problems into clear components, pressure test assumptions, and move quickly from concept to implementation. I carry that mindset into engineering, where clarity of thinking becomes clarity in code.I began my career in accounting at Domo as an AR specialist. Rather than work around inefficient processes, I automated them. That instinct to eliminate friction led me to formally transition into software engineering through a Master’s program at UPenn.Today I work primarily in Java, PostgreSQL, and Vue, with a strong emphasis on backend systems and data integrity.I assisted in the design and led implementation of an event outbox architecture for writing payments to the ledger from early exploration through production rollout, improving system reliability and consistency across services. In my fourth year as an SDE, I was the second highest producing engineer in the company.I am especially interested in how AI is reshaping software engineering and product development/management. I focus on building systems that are resilient, scalable, and adaptable to rapid change.
