Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations, the Grants & Prospect Research Officer identified, defined, and developed funding sources to support new and existing funding activities, as well as led the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals for private funding. The role also collaborated with the Office of the President, Division of Institutional Advancement, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, regarding federal, state, and private funding agencies.· Researches and identifies new, corporate, foundation and private funding prospects to match University priorities;· Generates high-quality proposals, narratives, applications and supporting documents in response to solicitations consistent with all policies and procedures of Dillard University, and the requirements and guidelines of the funding agencies:· Generates revenues for Dillard University programs through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented grant proposals:· Maintains primary responsibility for grant schedules and tracking grants;· Serves as a liaison to all public funding agencies and organizations;· Works with appropriate internal personnel, to include faculty, staff and students to research, develop, write and submit letters of inquiry, concept papers and grant proposals:· Coordinates and follows-up on the progress of submitted proposals;· Coordinates with the Office of Business and Finance to create expenditure and income budgets to accompany proposals;· Establish and creates a Dillard University Grants Manual procedure, in cooperation with the Office of Institutional Advancement
