About Catie Williams
If you had told me in college a huge part of my career would involve talking to customers, public speaking and leading people, I wouldn’t have gotten a degree in Information Systems. The first time I had to lead a meeting and share my thoughts, I went home and thought, if that keeps happening, I’m going to have to find a new job! Fast forward to today, where I am the Vice President for multiple software products, that is the part of my job I love the most. Sharing my passion for data, the impact it can have and the value it can bring to an organization to anyone that will listen. Executing is my biggest strength and I love to see projects and ideas come to fruition. Developing teams and seeing my employees grow and surpass my technical skills is why I look forward to going to work every day. I get to help companies solve their problems by building them data and analytics solutions that can help drive decision making, create competitive advantages and provide visibility across their company.This passion for data has led me to teaching and building curriculum about data and analytics that I have learned along my journey. I am fortunate to be able to do what I love in both my day job and spare time where I am the Program Director for two Data Science programs (Grad & Undergrad) at a local university. There are few things I find more rewarding in teaching than seeing the transformation in students as they uncover the potential in data and themselves. When not trying to solve all the problems in the construction and engineering industry with fancy reports and dashboards – I love to spend time with my family, read suspense novels and try new foods. Having two daughters has opened my eyes to the necessity of encouraging girls and women to realize they can do and be anything. Knowing I can take an active role and demonstrate what is possible for women has only made supporting women in STEM in my personal/professional life that more important.
