ABOUT CATHY THORSELL

I am an innovative executive with progressive healthcare leadership experience within physician practices and hospital systems. I have an extensive background in assessing departments and practices using critical thinking and data analysis skills, making recommendations using innovation and lean six sigma, and implementations using excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills. I am known for strong analytical problem solving skills and for agility in adapting to change quickly. I am recognized for improving key performance indicators to increase quality of patient care and patient satisfaction while simultaneously increasing revenue and decreasing expenses to help achieve a positive bottom line impact. My recent example was as a process Owner of Lean project resulting in the “Press Ganey” Overall Doctor Rating increase from 57.1% to 79.9%, a $971,255 expense reduction through CY19, and a 10% volume increase among 18 providers, within 5 months. In my photography business, I enjoyed working with diverse groups and individuals and exercising my creativity. I loved finding out how to make people feel comfortable so I could capture their happiness through my lens. This has helped me in my operations career by allowing me to understand what motivates people and how to build their engagement and buy in when assessing work, and implementing change. On a personal note, I enjoy CrossFit, participating in Spartan races and ballroom dancing. I love traveling to different parts of the world, expanding my knowledge and understanding of different cultures.
