Lead strategy, operations, and continuous improvement of the agency’s $30M+ annual grantmaking portfolio, supporting 1,200+ grantees statewide. Strengthen community impact through equitable funding practices, stakeholder engagement, and data-informed decision-making- Oversee full grants lifecycle for 16 programs, from guidelines to review, award, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Scaled statewide relief operations to administer an additional $40M in funding (FY23) to arts organizations and artists- Led development and deployment of emergency grant programs, most notably the Port of Baltimore Business Emergency Grant (post–Key Bridge collapse) to address urgent community and business needs- Strengthened equity in grantmaking by delivering implicit bias training for ~150 panelistsannually — later adopted by peer state arts agencies- Manage and improve the SmartSimple CRM/grants management system - lead system enhancements, workflow improvements, and provide training and technical support for staff and applicants- Maintain collaborative relationships with nonprofit partners, grantees, state agency leaders, and legal counsel to ensure compliance, solve complex issues, and support community needs- Produce evaluation, research, and grantmaking insights to inform annual budgets, strategy, program priorities, and support statewide advocacy efforts- Supervise and mentor two Grants Management Associates, ensuring timely processing of grants and aligning team priorities with agency goals.
