ABOUT CATHY BROWNE

Me in a nutshell: I\'m a proud Canadian, an award-winning journalist/host at CBC Vancouver, and creator of Access Denied and Better Late. After a 30+ years career in PR and Communications, I got my dream job at CBC (Canada\'s public broadcaster) six years ago at the age of 65. You do the math-) I\'m a multiple RTDNA Award finalist, and a two-time Webster Award winner, including the coveted Bill Good Award. I\'ve also been honoured to receive the King Charles Coronation Medal for my decades of work around disability awareness. In my spare time, I’m a blind photographer, storyteller, disability advocate, motivational speaker, community builder, and fledgling stand-up comic. Telling people\'s stories, through traditional and not so traditional media, or through my photography, is what inspires me and makes me happy.
