ABOUT CATHY ZION

Cathy is involved in a number of community organizations. She is a Member and Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Hosparus Health; Chair of the American Lung Association/Midland States Region Board of Directors; Past Chair of the Kentucky Commission on Small Business Advocacy; Member of Kentucky’s 2012 Blue Ribbon Commission on Tax Reform; Past-Chair of the Friends of Metro Animal Services Board of Directors; Founding Chair of the American Heart Association’s Circle of Red leadership society; founder of Louisville’s 100 Wise Women; and member of the Leadership Louisville Class of 2004. She is a past President of the Louisville Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO and past President of the Wednesday’s Child Board of Directors. She was inducted into the Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame in 2015; received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Kentucky Association of Hospice and Palliative Care in 2018: received the Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser in 2015 by the Association of Fund Raising Professionals; the Martha Layne Collins Leadership Award from Women Leading Kentucky in 2014; Woman of Distinction award by the Center for Women and Families in 2008; the 2003 Spirit of Kentucky Award from the Louisville NAWBO Chapter; the Women-4-Women’s Heart of the Community Award in 2002; Media Advocate for 2001 by the Louisville NAWBO Chapter; 2001 Inc.Credible Award Winner for Businesses with less than 10 Employees by Greater Louisville, Inc, metro Louisville Chamber of Commerce; Woman Business Owner of the Year by the Louisville NAWBO Chapter; Woman of the Year for by the River City Business and Professional Women/River City chapter; Woman of the Year by the Kentucky BPW; the Kentucky Women in Business Advocate of the Year by the U. S. Small Business Administration; and the 1997 Rising Entrepreneur for Kentucky by the University of Kentucky’s Small Business Development Center.
