About Cathy Terukina

Cathy Terukina is Executive Vice President of Folience (formerly The Gazette Company) and has worked with the company since 2005. Cathy recently worked with her colleagues on the leadership team to create the newly rebranded Folience holding company along with the development of its purpose and strategy. Cathy leads Folience’s Shared Services team to support existing businesses with human resources, organizational development, accounting/finance, facilities, and information technology. She also leads their efforts on integrating new businesses into the Folience ESOP ecosystem. Cathy is responsible for directing all aspects of ESOP administration, relationships with the Trustee, and building partnerships with other external resources. Cathy manages relations with the Board and Board committees, as well as leading the company’s efforts in the areas of culture and employee engagement. In the time since Folience became a 100% ESOP owned company, Cathy sponsored and organized the first employee ESOP Communications Committee and has been active with various local and regional ESOP partners and organizations to bring best practice to Folience and to share Folience’s success with others. Cathy is a graduate of Coe College (Cedar Rapids) and has almost 20 years of leadership experience, primarily in the areas of human resources and organizational development. She has worked in a variety of industries, including telecommunications and manufacturing, prior to joining Folience. Cathy is very active in the community through several nonprofit organizations: Chair-Elect, Board of Directors for United Way of East Central Iowa; also current chair of Human Resources and Nominating committees, in second term on board Director, Waypoint board and immediate past president, 2 terms on board CRMEA Community Development Innovation Council, serving second term Past involvement in the CR Downtown SSMID, Gems of Hope board, St Pius X Finance Council, CR schools.
