About Cathy Lawson
Cathy Lawson worked as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt for Medtronic. Cathy is the Chief Knowledge Officer with The Great Discovery. Cathy received the Executive Master Black Belt certification from Dr. Mikel Harry in 2014.Cathy started her career at Motorola in 1985 as a process quality engineer. She read the first white paper on Six Sigma and was part of the group that worked directly with Mikel Harry implementing Six Sigma at Motorola. Cathy became one of the first Six Sigma Black Belts within the company and later one of the first Master Black Belts. She served on the Motorola Corporate Black Belt Steering Committee, was a member of the Corporate Science Advisory Board and presented at a wide variety of conferences and programs on Six Sigma. In 2001 the division of Motorola where Cathy worked was sold to General Dynamics. Cathy founded and ran the Six Sigma program at General Dynamics C4 Systems. Cathy also became Quality Director for the Information Assurance Division and the Communications Network Division within C4S.Cathy completed her PhD in Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University. Dr. Douglas Montgomery was her doctoral committee chair and advisor. Cathy is a member of an IE Industrial Task Force which created the ASU Black Belt certificate program and she co-teaches the Six Sigma Methodology course.In 2008 Cathy left the corporate world and opened her own business known as Life Sculpting. Life Sculpting is a life enrichment center which is dedicated to helping people make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
