I have been described as a collaborative and approachable hospital executive, which I take as a high compliment. With diverse experience in hospitals, home health, and hospice, I bring a people-centric approach to healthcare leadership. This approach, coupled with strong fiscal and business acumen, has allowed me to leave each facility in far better financial and operational strength than when I arrived. My nursing background has given me the hands-on perspective to make decisions through a lens of superior patient care and the ability to build strong clinical relationships. As a specialist in rural healthcare, I understand the unique needs and requirements of being an integral part of a rural community – and I take that responsibility very seriously. As a proponent of continuum of care, I have made significant strides at the facilities I have worked with towards reducing return visits and ensuring patient needs continue to be met once they leave the facility. My efforts around quality improvement have included facilitating a culture of accountability and collaboration by leveraging patient data, establishing a quality program, and implementing a discharge follow-up program that included remote patient monitoring. My business and financial acumen is evident in the following achievements under my leadership: ⇨ Net margins of as much as 22%⇨ Gross revenue average of $42M⇨ Net income average of $7.56M⇨ $8.1M grant for telemedicine equipment⇨ $5M grant for hospital transformation⇨ Net margin improvement of $1M+These accomplishments are due to strong fiscal leadership, an aggressive stance on grant funding coupled with thorough follow-through to ensure grant parameters are met, and strong problem-solving skills. I’ve worked extensively with elected county board members including identifying community members who would be a good fit. In addition to supporting them in their election campaign, I am directly involved in training and educating them on rural healthcare. When I’m not working, I love to travel (really enjoyed the English countryside; hope to visit Italy soon!) and take mission trips to provide humanitarian aid. I’m also an avid reader, quilter, and photographer.
