As an educator at the Met, I create accessible and welcoming spaces both in the galleries and in the classrooms for audiences of all ages. With my background in fine art, I equip the participants of my programs with technical art skills in mediums such as painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture, as well as the ability to express their ideas about their experience of a work of art in our collection and connecting it to other pieces, creating cross-cultural connections. As the previous Access Intern in education, I am excited to continue working on their amazing programs for participants with disabilities, and I bring all those experiences of prioritizing participant comfort and wellbeing, into all my programming, from public, school, and family programming. I feel very lucky to be able to work with such an extensive collection of artwork at the Met, and with such a dedicated team of educators!Previously Twelve-Month Access and Inclusion Intern at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 20••••24. As the Access Intern in the Education Department, I support the organization and facilitation of all our Access programs which serve patrons who have disabilities. I also will be working on an independent research project about the importance of touch objects as a way for people to experience the art. I am excited to begin my professional journey here at the Met, with the hope that I can help to create more accessible and inclusive educative programs for everyone.
